เรื่องย่อ (Synopsis) ภาพยนตร์เรื่อง 28 WEEKS LATER หรือ มหาภัยเชื้อนรกถล่มเมือง เป็นการสานต่อจาก 28 Days Later ที่ประสบความสำเร็จอย่างล้นหลาม โดยหยิบยกเหตุการณ์ช่วง 6 เดือนหลังจากที่มหาภัยเชื้อนรกถล่มดินแดนสหราชอาณาจักร (Mainland Britain) กองทัพสหรัฐประกาศชัยชนะเหนือสงครามปราบเชื้อไวรัส และพร้อมที่จะเริ่มฟื้นฟูสภาพบ้านเมืองขึ้นมาใหม่ เมื่อผู้อพยพกลุ่มแรกเดินทางกลับมาเหยียบบ้านเกิดเมืองนอน ครอบครัวก็ได้อยู่พร้อมหน้ากันอีกครั้ง แต่มีผู้รอดชีวิตรายหนึ่งกุมความลับสยองไว้โดยที่เจ้าหล่อนเองก็ไม่รู้ตัว เชื้อนรกยังไม่ตายสิ้นซาก และเมื่อมันหวนกลับมาถล่มเมืองครั้งใหม่ ก็อันตรายยิ่งกว่าเดิมหลายเท่านัก
